Beer festivals 2020
As in Helsinki, several well known beer and whisky festivals in Europe and around the world have been cancelled or postponed. Even the king of beer festivals, Munich’s Oktoberfest will not take place in 2020.
Those seeking a celebrations of good beverages, have to seek out local, smaller-scale events, which is not always a bad thing. Visitors to Helsinki can enjoy Finnish craft beers
There is at least one massive beerfestival/beerexpo taking place. That is the Qingdao International Beer Festival in late July/early August. This 24-day event has been called Oktoberfest of Asia. The expo is also commercially important for breweries hoping to capture market share in China, and most of the majors in the industry are present.
Qingdao isn’t only about tap lager though. More than 1400 beers are available, enjoyed along various sports events, concerts and other activities. Unfortunately travel from outside mainland China still faces severe restrictions.
